PLUR Mad Hatter's Player Ball - 12 Year Anniversary!
The Penthouse Nightclub - May 17th, 9pm till 3am
It has been 12 years since PLUR first opened its doors at CLUB8X6. Run by Zoll Rushton, it was the only private club in Vancouver ever to be legally licensed as a members only venue and served as a pilot project for the city. Vancouver has a long history of thriving alternative scenes, with the alt, burner, LGBTQ+, raver, and swinger communities all present. It was then that PLUR was born. PLUR focused on building a collective community around alternative events.
The name, PLUR, comes from Peace, Love, Unity, Respect, and to this day represents the values we try to uphold with all of our events. With 12 years behind us, we have grown to be known for producing high-quality, successful, safe, and consensual events for our ever-expanding Vancouver community, and we are still striving to find more ways to continue improving.
Over 15 years ago, with his infectious energy, positive attitude, and sexy outfits, Scottyhotty's notoriety in the alternative scene began to grow. This was when he saw the need for a new type of event in Vancouver and teamed up with the up-and-coming local DJ MarkusEdge. Together, they exchanged ideas and launched the first ever "Mad Hatter Party." The event was a massive success, and after a year of events under PLUR's belt, the two decided to end their collaboration, with ScottyHotty taking PLUR as his own to the heights it's reached today.
PLUR has always been about celebrating and bringing communities together, and our MAD Hatter Party never fails to deliver! Twelve years is a significant milestone for us, so we hope you’ll join us on May 17th at the Penthouse Nightclub to celebrate in the best way we know how: dress up, dance hard, and play harder!
